|"Hey hands off buddy! This paint job is new!"|
As the US version of Alternators lacked specific fiction or character bios, we can only look to Japan's version of Alternators, Binaltech, which came with character cards and bio information by Hirofumi Ichikawa, the information presented here is from the English translation by Doug Dlin.
Tracks was already in love with his earthly vehicle mode. Upon receiving a Binaltech body which was a modern version of the same vehicle, he fell even more in love with it, and himself.
Tracks's vanity is his greatest flaw and biggest danger to himself. He will get himself into impossible situations in combat if he thinks he can keep his paint from getting scratched or his fenders from getting dented.
His flight capability from his previous body is recreated using repulser panels on his car body, but he doesn't use this ability much as it decreases his effectiveness in combat. He is also capable of flight in robot mode using his missile pods as rocket packs, in addition these missile pods are capable of firing multiple-warhead, heat-seeking incendiary missiles.
Tracks's body is covered with an advanced pigment system that allows him to change colors at will as well as display moving images or his surrounds making him effectively invisible.
He carries a hand held "black beam gun" as well as double-barreled plasma shotguns on both arms.
