Autobots, Alternators |
Function: Scout |
"The fallen will be remembered as Cybertron's finest." |
As the US version of Alternators lacked specific fiction or character bios, we can only look to Japan's version of Alternators, Binaltech, which came with character cards and bio information by Hirofumi Ichikawa, the information presented here is from the English translation by Doug Dlin. There was no Binaltech version of Camshaft, so there was no fiction to accompany the figure, one could assume he is just G1 Camshaft in an updated body. Camshaft is a recolor and remold of Alternators Prowl. His mold is identical to the Japanese Binaltech "civilian mode" Prowl which featured different rims, a new spoiler, and removed the light bar from the roof. Interestingly enough, early painted test shots had "BLU STRK" printed on the license plate. This, along with his color scheme prompted speculation that he may have been intended to be Blustreak, even thought there was already a rendition of G1 Bluestreak earlier in the line named Silverstreak. |
