Gold Megalo Convoy was offered through a contest along with Gold Master Galvatron in TV Magazine late in 2005. An additional Gold Megalo Convoy was also offered as a contest prize through the Takara-Tomy website alongside the release of the THS-2 Hybrid Style Convoy. This took the number of pieces of this toy made up to a total of 16.

This Lucky Draw Transformer also included a gold chrome version of the Legends of Cybertron Optimus Prime, as Megalo Convoy included this toy with him in his mass retail release in Japan.
