Design is a homage to the inner shell robot of the 1988 Japan exclusive Metalhawk figure, which is a design that was also featured in the John Barber penned Robots in Disguise series for IDW. The Titan Master, Professor Go, was not named on the Siege on Cybertron packaging. At SDCC 2017 Hasbro had a "Trypticon's Titan Master Crunch" breakfast cereal box, which listed every Titan Master in the Titans Return line, including the six Titan Masters in the box sets. Professor Go, who has the power to manipulate cosmic matter, was one of these six additional names. Professor Go was a character from the 1988 Masterforce series, where Metalhawk originates from, and was a friend of Metalhawk's human identity, making it logical that Professor Go would be the partner of Metalhawk. The power to manipulate cosmic matter is also a reference to Tenchokon power, one of the three forms of Chokon Power, literally the "power of the heavens" and the only one of the three powers that is inherently within Transformers. This reinforces the connection between Professor Go and Metalhawk. |
