Decepticons, Decepticon Tapes |
Function: Demolitions |
"Destroy what's below and what's above will follow." |
Rumble is your basic street punk. Small but always acting tough. Quick temper and mean disposition. Follows Megatron's orders eagerly. Transmits immense low frequency groundwaves to create powerful earthquakes. His small size limits his physical strength, but his ability to shatter the ground makes him difficult to approach in a fight. |

Variants Info Heat-sensitive "Rubsign" added underneath tape reel decal on all versions and re-issues from 1985 on. In 1986, some Rumbles (like Frenzy) may have been packaged with gold weapons. However, it is more likely that gold-chromed weapons from a 1986 Frenzy may have been paired with a used Rumble. | |
Additional Toy Info Sold in a 2-pack with Ravage in the U.S.; packaged with Soundwave (instead of Buzzsaw) in Japan, a move harkening back to Soundwave's MicroChange CassetteMan origins. In late 1986, tooling changes were made to both Rumble and Frenzy. Among those changes, the lower leg decals were removed, and their die-cast feet and shoulder ratchets were retooled in black plastic. Rumble's thighs were cast in the same black plastic as his chest and hands. Beware of highly-accurate imitations posing as "reissues"! Many of these share the label details of 1985 (rubsign) Frenzys and Rumbles, but with tooling in the late 1986-87 styles. Some also have the decals of their mold partner. (for example, Frenzy w/ Rumble's decals) |
